To preserve the natural qualities of this mat, which has not undergone any chemical treatment, we recommend following these important precautions:- Before your practice, thoroughly wash your hands and feet to remove any oils or creams that could stain the mat.
- Remove rings, bracelets, and chains before your practice, and ensure your hands are washed thoroughly. Natural latex is sensitive to metals and may become stained.
- For the same reason, avoid touching coins, keys, figurines after washing your hands.
- Refrain from using sanitizing gels, as some may contain substances that can stain the mat. If you've used them, be sure to wash your hands with soap and water before practicing to remove any residue.
- Keep the mat away from direct sunlight or heat sources, as they can degrade the natural rubber and make it slippery.
- Due to its thickness, we recommend not using it on uneven surfaces, as you may feel variations in terrain and increase the risk of damage.
Care and Maintenance:
To ensure the longevity of your mat, follow these care and maintenance guidelines:- When not in use, store the mat rolled up in a dry location, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, such as radiators or sun-exposed car trunks. If possible, use a breathable fabric bag to protect it from dust.
- Periodically, moisturize the mat with a damp, wrung-out cloth to remove any signs of natural oxidation.
- After each practice, clean the mat using a microfiber cloth dampened with water and wrung out. Optionally, you can use a small amount of ReClean yoga mat cleaner. Allow the mat to air dry. Avoid using a dry cloth, as it may be abrasive.
- For a deep cleaning, hand wash the mat in cold water with a mild detergent and rinse thoroughly. Dry the mat by laying it flat and away from direct sunlight, with a towel placed underneath to absorb excess moisture.
- If machine washing is necessary, use cold water, minimal detergent, and skip the spin cycle. Never tumble dry the mat. Lighter areas that may appear during cleaning will disappear when the mat is completely dry.
